The English Speaking World

Today while I am helping individuals edit their essays, you will start a mini-project mapping some of the parts of the English-speaking world you have studied.

In a graded discussion that you record and post privately on YouTube, you should address the following:

  • What were the important events that led up to the writing of your song?
  • What cultural, societal or individual issues are salient?
  • What truth (specifically) to what power (exactly), is being stated?
  • What were the outcomes of this history?

Groups shout be mixed in terms of era AND location, so there is a rich exchange.

You should pick whichever song yeilds the most interesting information.

2-3 minutes of air time for each person, 3-5 people in groups.

This will be due Tuesday. We’ll work on it during class.
